A Clockwork Orange

New sketches from a film.
This time, the timeless and unclassifiable masterpiece: Stanley Kubrick's"A Clockwork Orange" (1971) (La Naranja Mecánica)
Based on the novel of the same title by Anthony Burgess.
Starring: Alex DeLarge (great Malcolm McDowell), some kind of anti-hero, a young man whose principal interests are ultra-violence and Beethoven.
You can find tons of terrific visual contents in this film. Every shot is a lesson on how composing a scene and
Copy and learn from all the shots you can (it's like a master course in "Kubrick's School") I'll post some of this shots, but now...a few quick sketches of Alex in action... (pencil on paper and a little color with multiply layers)

More sketches about Alex and his gang! (and a little shot)

The Black Pirate

Some studies of Douglas Fairbanks in "The Black Pirate" movie.

Robin and Marian

Studies from the final fight on this fantastic (and nowadays a classic) movie.
Richard Lester's
Robin and Marian is maybe one of the latest appearances of Audrey Hepburn.
The film was first released in 1976, and Sean Connery looks older than now! (what a man!)

The final fight is a great scene to study and learn everything!
Two Old men fighting with two big and really heavy swords.
A must see!

FALSTAFF (Chimes at midnight)

Another study about composition in classic movies. This time: Falstaff, 1965 (a.k.a "Chimes At Midnight") A strange movie by Orson Welles, filmed completely in Spain. The plot is a compilation of extracts from Shakespeare's 'Henry IV' 'Richard II' and other plays.
In this movie you can see one of the most emblematic sequences of Orson's career, the awesome battle in the middle of the film.
These are sketches of three fantastic eye-worm shots. I am charmed with the second one.

Y esos colgados bufff!

The Man Who Would Be King

Some sketches from John Huston's "The man who would be king" another classic movie from 1975,
starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine. The story is taken by Kipling and tell the adventures of two British soldiers in the days of high Empire! And yes, Connery still looks older than know!

Mogambo

New sketches from a film. Cos you want it...you get it!
After a long time, this section comes back with
MOGAMBO (1953), a fantanstic jungle-film with an awesome casting (Clark Gable, Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly!!) and directed by John Huston.
Some scenes was filmed on Safari in Africa. And there's gorillas in that film...great
Tarzan's Clayton Character has some kind of deja-vu with Gable's role.

La Dolce Vita (1960) directed by Federico Fellini. Set in Rome, Italy in the 1950s where Marcello covers the more sensational side of the news; movie stars, religious visions, and the decadent aristocracy.
The film shows seven days and nights in the life of the reporter.
It was not made on location: the Via Veneto was meticulously recreated in the Cinecitta Studios.
The character of Paparazzo, the news photographer who works with Marcello, is the origin of the word used in many languages (normally in the plural, paparazzi) to describe intrusive photographers.

THE STRANGER

More sketches from a film, this time, the classic Orson Welles' The Stranger (1946).
With risky perspectives and impossible shots. Fantastic, as usual in Orson's films.

SEVEN SAMURAI II

SEVEN SAMURAI
One of the best action movies of all times...And a fantastic masterpiece by Akira Kurosawa.
I do not get tired of watching it. These are roughs about the final battle, but all the movie is amazing.
Apart of all the action, my favorite scene is when the peasant who accompanies the samurai (in the haunt of the villains) recognizes his wife going out of the flames ... simply chilling....
